Playing Responsibly at Horseplay
Why This Matters to Us
Games should stay fun. When they stop being fun, something needs to change.
We are Horseplay, operated by Game Play Network, and we build our platform around the idea that play is entertainment first. Money spent here is the cost of that entertainment, never an income plan or a way to chase back what was lost. Most people play within their means and enjoy it. A small number do not, and we would rather help early than pretend the risk isn't real.
This page explains the tools we give you, the signs worth watching for, and where Canadians can turn for free, confidential help.
Warning Signs Worth Noticing
Problem gambling rarely announces itself. It creeps in. Ask yourself whether any of these feel familiar:
- Spending more than you planned, again and again.
- Chasing losses with bigger bets to get even.
- Borrowing money or missing bills to keep playing.
- Hiding your play from family or friends.
- Feeling anxious, irritable or low when you're not playing.
- Gambling to escape stress rather than for fun.
One of these might mean little on its own. Several together deserve attention.
A Quick Self-Check
Take thirty seconds and answer honestly. Have you tried to cut back and failed? Do you play longer than intended most times? Has anyone close to you expressed concern about your gambling? Do you feel a pull to win back what you lost?
If you answered yes to any of these, consider setting a limit today or taking a cooling-off break. A pause is not a defeat. It's a smart move.
Tools That Keep You in Control
Control is easier when you set the rules in advance. We offer several player-protection settings inside your account:
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| Deposit limits | Cap how much you can add over a day, week or month. |
| Loss limits | Set a ceiling on net losses across a chosen period. |
| Session limits | Decide how long a single play session can run. |
| Reality checks | Pop-up reminders showing how long you've been playing. |
| Cooling-off | A short pause from play, from a day up to several weeks. |
| Self-exclusion | A longer locked break when you need real distance. |
Lowering a limit takes effect quickly. Raising one takes longer by design, so a heated moment never overrides a calmer decision. Need a hand setting any of these? Reach our team through Live Chat or the Help Center.
Help for Canadians
Free, confidential support is available across Canada, and you don't need to hit rock bottom to use it.
In Ontario, ConnexOntario offers 24/7 help by phone at 1-866-531-2600. For resources across the country, visit the Responsible Gambling Council's directory at responsiblegambling.org.
These services are independent of us. Talking to them changes nothing about your Horseplay account unless you choose to act on their advice.
You Must Be 19 or Older
Horseplay is strictly for adults. The minimum age to register and play in Canada is 19 in most provinces, and we enforce this during sign-up and through identity checks.
Keep your login details private. If someone under the legal age shares your device, use the parental controls and password tools available on your operating system to block access. Underage gambling is never acceptable, and accounts found to belong to minors are closed, with any balances handled according to our terms.
